Abstract: Data on the aminomethylation reaction (the Mannich reaction) for the period 1970–1980 are examined and a systematic account is given. The synthesis of β-aminoketones from various ketones (dialkyl ketones, alkyl aryl ketones, heterocyclic alkyl ketones, and cyclic ketones, as well as diketones) is discussed.
The bibliography includes 229 references.
