Abstract: The review presents a compilation of data on the iodination of aromatic compounds published during the last 10–20 years. The synthetic advantages of various methods of preparation of aromatic iodo-derivatives are examined and data concerning the mechanism of direct iodination are presented.
The bibliography includes 127 references.
