Abstract: The literature data on the methods of synthesis and reactions of the highly electrophilic perfluoroisobutene with nucleophiles as well as electrophiles are surveyed. The possibilities of employing this fluoro-olefin in organofluorine synthesis are discussed. The advances in the study of the perfluoro-t-butyl anion, generated from perfluoroisobutene and the fluoride anion, are considered in a special section.
The bibliography includes 199 references.
