The Determination of the Physicochemical and Chemical Forms of Trace Elements in Natural Waters

A. K. Prokof'ev

State Institute of Oceanography, Moscow
Abstract: Published material on methods for determining the physicochemical and chemical forms of trace elements (micro-elements) in natural waters in relation to their presence in definite water fractions (inorganic, organic, colloidal, surface-film, and suspended), magnitude, lability with respect to the analytical technique used, and the natural stability of their chemical compounds and oxidation state has been reviewed. All stages of the analysis, from the selection of the position for the removal of the samples and their preliminary treatment to the instrumental determination of the forms of the trace elements have been examined.
The bibliography contains 175 references.
