Abstract: The present state of research into complex and organometallic compounds with an unpaired electron is described. Paramagnetic complexes of transition metals, differing in the position of the free-radical fragment and in the nature of the paramagnetic ligands are examined. The possibility of investigating the intramolecular electron transfer in the metal–ligand system and the formation of intermediate free-radical products in reactions of transition metal compounds is discussed.
