Abstract: Data on the enantioselective hydrogenation of the C=C and C=O bonds in prochiral compounds in the presence of homogeneous and heterogeneous chiral complexes of rhodium, palladium, and cobalt are surveyed. They are examined from the standpoint of the influence of the structure of the ligand on the asymmetric effectiveness of the complex.
