Abstract: The results of studies of the photolysis by vacuum ultraviolet radiation of saturated hydrocarbons and hydrocarbons containing individual double bonds are examined and characteristics of the photolysis of these classes of substances are discussed as a function of the molecular structure, the phase state of the given substance, and the wavelength of the radiation.
