Abstract: A systematic account is given of the results of experimental studies on the synthesis, structures, and properties of carbohydrate-containing derivatives of urea and its analogues – thiourea, selenourea, and iminourea (guanidine). The possibility of using them in the preparative chemistry of carbohydrates and in certain branches of the national economy is demonstrated. The prospects for the development of the chemistry of sugars with ureido-groups are outlined.
