Abstract: The main features of the catalytic and thermal polymerisation of chlorocyclophosphazens are examined, with a possible mechanism of rearrangement of rings in the thermal polymerisation of mixtures of cyclic chlorophosphazens. Research on the influence of side-groups on the chemical and physicochemical properties of polyorganophosphazens (polydialkoxyphosphazens, polydiaminophosphazens) is discussed, as well as aspects of the vulcanisation and stabilisation of these polymers. The chemical properties, structure, molecular-mass characteristics, and thermal stability of polyphosphazens are surveyed, and also the application of these polymers in the national economy. A list of 151 references is included.
