The Structure and Properties of Organocyclodisilazanes

A survey and a systematic account of data on monomeric, oligomeric, and polymeric four-membered cyclic silazane systems are given and the fundamentals of the theory of their structure and reactivity are described. The physical and chemical properties, the methods of analysis, and certain aspects of the practical applications of these compounds are examined in detail. The review contains an exhaustive bibliography on organocyclodisilazane compounds starting from the first available information about them and extending up to 1978 (polycyclic systems in which the four-membered rings are linked via a silicon spiro-atom are excluded).
