Advances in the Chemistry of Isoindole

Data on the synthesis and physical and chemical properties of isoindoles published in 1968–1978 are examined and problems of the aromaticity of o-quinonoid heterocycles (isobenzofuran, isothionaphthene, and isoindole) are discussed.
