Abstract: The present state of the problem of the copolymerisation of unsaturated organophosphorus monomers is considered. Quantitative data on their reactivities in the radical polymerisation processes are surveyed and analysed critically, the place of these monomers among other types of unsaturated compounds is defined, and the organophosphorus monomers most promising from the standpoint of the modification of polymeric materials by copolymerisation methods are specified. The review is based on data published up to the end of 1978.
