Abstract: Polymers of different types based on dicyanogen, dithiocyanogen, carbon suboxide, and carbon subsulphide, which exhibit conducting or semiconducting properties, are examined. The methods of synthesis, the polymerisation mechanisms, and the chemical and physical properties of these polymers are discussed.
