Abstract: A critical and systematic account is given of the results of studies of the α-effect by physical and chemical methods. The nature of the α-effect, its characteristic features, and its influence on the structure and properties of the corresponding organic compounds of Group IVB elements are discussed.
The bibliography includes 160 references.
