Modern Theories of the Adsorption of Polymers on Solid Surfaces
Yu. S. Lipatov Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Kiev
Abstract:
Studies concerned with the theoretical description and experimental assessment of the state of adsorbed macromolecules as well as the experimental estimation of the thickness of the adsorption layer are examined. The methodological approaches based on modern physical and physicochemical procedures for the investigation of the structure of the adsorption layers are discussed and the accumulated experimental data are analysed in detail. The role of the configurational state of macromolecules in the adsorption layer and of its structure in the establishment of the properties of polymeric compound materials is emphasised. The bibliography includes 71 references.
