Abstract: Published information on the changes in rheological properties of polymer melts and solutions accompanying various chemical processes — polymerisation, vulcanisation, hardening, gelation — is examined, and experimental methods for the rheological investigation of chemically unstable polymer systems are discussed in detail. Changes in rheological properties should be considered in relation to the chemical kinetics of the processes involved. Technical aspects of the problem are indicated. A list of 133 references is included.
