Abstract: Methods of calculating pKBH+ for weak bases from spectrometric data are discussed, with special emphasis on methods based on the principle of free energy linearity. It is shown that the ionisation of a weak base in a strongly acid medium is described by two quantities: pKBH+ and the solvation parameter. 77 references.
