Aromatic Monocarbonylpolyfluoro-compounds

The literature data on the methods of synthesis and chemical and photochemical reactions of aromatic polyfluoro-substituted aldehydes and ketones are surveyed and arranged systematically. Attention is concentrated on the most characteristic reactions of these compounds with nucleophiles. The characteristics of the structure and reactivity of monocarbonylpolyfluoro-compounds due to the presence of electron-accepting fluorine atoms in their molecules are considered. Methods are described for the preparation of aromatic o-hydroxy- and o-amino-substituted polyfluoroketones and certain aspects of their employment in the synthesis of polyfluoro-substituted benzoheterocycles are examined.
