Abstract: The literature on the synthesis and properties of dinuclear complexes with the N2Fe2(CO)6 group is surveyed. It is shown that these complexes are formed in reactions of a wide variety of nitrogen-containing organic compounds with iron carbonyls. The possibility of the formation of nitrene species and their complexes in these reactions is considered.
