Abstract: The reactions of transition metal compounds involving the formation of CO2 complexes, reactions with insertion of CO2 in transition metal–hydrogen and transition metal–carbon bonds, and homogeneous catalytic processes in which carbon dioxide behaves as a reactant or a modifying ligand are considered. A special section is devoted to reversible reactions accompanied by elimination of carbon dioxide under the influence of transition metal compounds.
