Abstract: Organosiloxazanes synthesised by the beginning of 1977 have been classified for the first time (according to their structure and molecular weight). For each of the three main groups – (1) cyclic, (2) linear and cyclolinear, and (3) polymeric – the main methods of preparation and the physicochemical characteristics are surveyed. In conclusion several fields of practical application of the new compounds and materials based on them are considered. A list of 114 references is included.
