Abstract: Reactions involving the oxidation of unsaturated bicyclic hydrocarbons with a bridge bond by oxygen, hydroperoxides, peracids, and hydrogen peroxide are examined, particular attention being devoted to the mechanism and the stereochemistry of the oxidation of norbornene hydrocarbons and their derivatives.
