Methods of Synthesis of Imidazopyrimidines with a Bridgehead Nitrogen Atom and Their Benzo-analogues

The methods of synthesis of imidazopyrimidines with a bridgehead nitrogen atom, namely imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidines, imidazo[1,2-c]pyrimidines, and their benzo-analogues, are examined, particular attention being devoted to methods of synthesis of preparative value. Certain theoretical problems associated with the formation of these heterocyclic condensed systems are discussed.
