Reactions of Organic Compounds with Higher Fluorides of f- and d-Elements in Groups V and VI
V. T. Orekhov
Abstract:
The interaction of higher fluorides of f- and d-elements in Groups V and VI of the Periodic System with alkanes, alkenes, aromatic compounds, and also hetero-organic derivatives containing silicon, nitrogen, phosphorus, oxygen, and sulphur is surveyed. The relative oxidising powers of the inorganic fluorides are assessed. Organic donors possessing lone pairs of electrons form with penta- and hexa-fluorides of low oxidising power relatively stable adducts, least stable with the hexa-fluorides. Highly active inorganic fluorides undergo with organic compounds redox and substitution reactions, yielding complicated mixtures of metal-containing and fluorinated organic substances. A list of 169 references is included.
