Abstract:
The mechanism and kinetics of acyl transfer reactions in the presence of tertiary amines are examined and the quantitative relations between the rate of reaction and the structure of the acylating agent, the acylated substrate, the amine, and the solvent, temperature, and the ratio of the efficiencies of intramolecular and intermolecular catalysis are discussed. A number of examples of the application of tertiary amines as accelerators of acyl transfer reactions, which are of practical importance, are presented. The bibliography includes 282 references.
