Abstract: General and specific modes of breakdown on electron bombardment are surveyed for certain simple quinolizidine derivatives, including substances of natural origin, and many quinolizidine alkaloids of the cytisine, sparteine, and matrine series. Mass spectrometry can be used to establish the structure of this class of naturally occurring compounds. A list of 36 references is included.
