Abstract: Published information is surveyed on the behaviour of low polymers of diverse chemical structure and on their dilute and concentrated solutions. Consideration is given to the important role of terminal groups, to the influence of the hydrodynamic permeability of a coil on polymer–solvent interaction, to the enhanced mobility of short chains, their flexibility, etc.
A list of 108 references is included.
