Abstract: The mechanism and kinetics of the electrochemical oxidation of organic compounds on nickel, cobalt, copper, and silver anodes at potentials corresponding to the formation of the higher oxides of these metals are discussed. The problems of the practical use of the electrodes in the electrosynthesis of organic compounds are examined. The feasibility of different versions of electrosynthetic processes with participation of the higher oxides, regenerated electrochemically, is demonstrated for the nickel oxide electrode.
