The Influence of the Nature of the Metallic Phase on the Structure of the Electrical Double Layer and the Kinetics of the Evolution of Hydrogen
U. Palm, V. Past Tartu State University
Abstract:
The influence of the crystallographic structure of the surface of a solid electrode and of the specific interaction between the solvent and the metal on the properties of the electrical double layer and the adsorption of ions and dipolar molecules on metals which do not adsorb hydrogen is examined. The problem of the influence of the structure of the electrical double layer on the kinetics of the evolution of hydrogen on bismuth, tin, lead, and cadmium, in acid and alkaline solutions is discussed. The bibliography includes 80 references.
