Abstract: The fundamental data on the adsorption of various organic substances on platinum, obtained by electrochemical methods, are discussed. It is shown that electrochemical pulse methods make it possible to determine the degree of adsorption directly under the steady-state conditions of an electrocatalytic process and also to establish in many instances the nature of the adsorbed complex on the surface of the catalyst electrode.
