Chemical Geroprotectors and the Problem of Increasing the Life Span
L. K. Obukhova Institute of Chemical Physics of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Moscow
Abstract:
The information available in the literature about the applications of geroprotectors – chemical substances used in experimental gerontology to increase the life span and to retard ageing – are described systematically and analysed. The proposed mechanisms of ageing are discussed only in connection with the characteristics of the action of the geroprotectors. The bibliography includes 100 references.
