Abstract: The kinetics and the mechanism of the thermal, thermo-oxidative, photo-oxidative, and hydrolytic degradation of polymers are surveyed. Critical phenomena in the thermal degradation of poly(vinyl chloride) are described. Specific aspects of radical reactions in the solid phase are discussed.
A list of 151 references is included.
