Abstract: Studies on phosphorus-containing free radicals and radical-ions are discussed in the review and data on the geometrical and electronic structures of phosphinyl, phosphonyl, and phosphoranyl radicals and radical-ions derived from compounds of tri-, tetra-, and penta-coordinate phosphorus are presented. The main types of radical reactions of phosphorus and their mechanisms are considered.
