Abstract: In the review an attempt is made for the first time to survey studies on the synthesis, properties, and likely practical applications of silylureas. In view of the significant differences in the methods of their synthesis and properties, N-silylureas are examined separately from the carbofunctional compounds in which the urea moiety and the silicon atom are separated by a group of atoms.
