Abstract: Experimental results are given on the promotion of aluminosilicates – amorphous and crystalline – by components of the reaction mixture (alkenes, halogen-containing compounds) and by molecules (water, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, etc.) not involved in the reaction stoichiometry. The effect of additives or reactant molecules on the catalyst depends on their structure and composition, as well as on the concentration of the promoter. A suggested mechanism of promotion of aluminosilicates and zeolites is considered.
A list of 160 references is included.
