Abstract: The great synthetic possibilities in the chemistry of organosilicon systems and the wide variety of their properties are discussed. The high reactivity of cyclic organosilicon systems with respect to various rearrangements and polymerisation, which gives rise to unlimited possibilities for the synthesis of macromolecular organic derivatives of the elements, is specially considered.
The bibliography includes 222 references.
