Abstract: This review deals with the comparative chemical characteristics of metallocenes containing Group VIII metals in the Third Period of the Periodic System, namely cobaltocene, nickelocene, and their derivatives. The common features of their chemical properties and the differences between them have been elucidated. The capacity of cobaltocene and nickelocene to form complexes with electron-accepting agents is discussed.
The bibliography includes 200 references.
