Abstract: The advances achieved recently in the electrochemical oxidation of carbon monoxide, which is a comparatively cheap fuel for electrochemical generators (fuel cells), are considered and the problems of the further improvement of the electrochemical oxidation of carbon monoxide are analysed. The electrochemical methods for the analysis of carbon monoxide, which are important for industry, medicine, and scientific research, are reviewed.
