Abstract: The advances in the chemistry of alloxazines and isoalloxazines in the last 10–12 years have been reflected particularly in the study of their reactivities. The review deals with the reduction, oxidation, and nucleophilic and electrophilic substitution reactions, the reactions of exocyclic amino-groups, the methyl group in the 8-position of the flavine nucleus, and others.
The reactivities of alloxazines and isoalloxazines are discussed with reference to quantum-chemical parameters.
The bibliography includes 245 references.
