Abstract: Studies of the polymerisation and copolymerisation of alkene sulphides, including those published in 1971, are reviewed. The literature is classified according to the nature of the action of the catalytic systems – polymerisation under the influence of anionic and cationic excitants, modified organometallic compounds, and charge-transfer complexes. A separate chapter gives the results of studies on the copolymerisation of thio-oxides.
