Abstract: Ecdysones ara a group of structurally similar steroid compounds with hormonal activity in the moulting and metamorphosis of insects. The review deals with the sources from which ecdysones are isolated, their structure determination, and methods for their partial synthesis. The principal features of the biological activity of ecdysones and their synthetic analogues are also briefly outlined.
The bibliography includes 193 references.
