Photochemical and thermal reactions of kynurenines

Abstract:
Kynurenine and its derivatives are present in the lens of the human eye where they function as the UV filters. Photochemical and thermal reactions of these compounds, which can result in irreversible modification of the lens proteins and play an important role in cataract development, are considered.
