Abstract: Fluorine reacts readily with the majority of substances at room or moderately elevated temperatures. Only in a few cases is special activation of the reactants necessary. An electric discharge may be used for this purpose. This review deals with studies of reactions involving elemental fluorine and fluorides in a gas discharge. Reactions which may be of preparative value are mainly considered.
