Abstract: The carbonyl compounds activated by electron-withdrawing groups react efficiently with aromatics in superacid media. Examples of the synthesis of condensation monomers and their precursors, as well as superelectrophile-induced polymerisation transformations are considered. Particular attention is focused on properties of the polymers obtained.
