Abstract: The review deals with the methods of generation of ketens in situ, particularly their reaction behaviour, mainly in cycloaddition to compounds containing multiple bonds. The ways in which ketens are polymerised in situ, associated both with the structure of the ketens themselves and the methods of their preparation, are also discussed. The bibliography incorporates 102 references.
