Abstract: Synthesis, structure and chemical properties of nucleoside dialdehyde derivatives are described. The introduction of aldehyde groups into oligonucleotides is discussed. The methods of affinity modification of proteins with periodate-oxidised nucleic acid derivatives are considered. The bibliography includes 48 references.
