Boron and its compounds with nonmetals: chemical bonding and the electronic properties
A. L. Ivanovskii Institute of Solid State Chemistry, Urals Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Ekaterinburg
Abstract:
Theoretical and experimental data on the electronic structure, chemical bonding, and charge distributions in condensed boron and solid-phase boron compounds with a number of sp-elements are reviewed. The applicability of quantum chemistry methods to a description of the physicochemical properties of boron and borides of nonmetals, as well as prospects of using computational methods in the theoretical materials science of borides, are discussed. The bibliography includes 452 references.
