Direct high-pressure gas-phase oxidation of natural gas to methanol and other oxygenates

Abstract:
The published experimental data on the direct gas-phase oxidation of natural gas (methane) to methanol are surveyed. The results of kinetic modelling of the process, its mechanism, and its most characteristic features are considered. Prospects of the industrial use of the process and the most important directions for further studies are discussed.The bibliography includes 146 references.
