Abstract: The results of studies on polymers with arylene dicarbadodecaborane fragments in the chain are surveyed. The characteristic features of the formation of these polymers, their properties, and their unusual thermal behaviour are examined. The mechanism of the thermal transformation of polyarylenedicarbadodecaboranes is discussed. The probable usefulness of the radical arylation of dicarbadodecaboranes(12) is demonstrated. Certain aspects of the practical employment of dicarbadodecaborane-containing polymers are considered. The bibliography includes 135 references.
