Abstract:
Experimental values of the enthalpies of formation (ΔH0f ) and of the specific heat (Cp0 ) of the organic compounds of selenium and tellurium, are discussed, including their complexes with dialkylzinc and dialkylcadmium. Different forms of the methods of combustion enthalpy and of reaction calorimetry, used to determine Δ H0f values, are examined. The enthalpies of breaking of the chemical bonds formed by selenium and by tellurium are calculated from the ΔH0f values. Data on the temperature dependence of the specific heat are used to find the absolute entropy of these compounds, their temperature, enthalpy, and entropy of melting, their entropy of formation, and other thermodynamic parameters. Special features of the changes in enthalpy, entropy, and Gibbs free energy of the breaking of the chemical bonds are pointed out. The bibliography includes 62 references.
